Happy Baby Time!

Here's my baby girl :)

Introducing: Macy Mikiko!

She's here! (and I've neglected to post this for a while.) Its a lot of work being a new Mommy. Macy sure keeps me busy.
Macy came October 5 at 8:42 am and weighed 6lbs 13 oz and measuring 19 in in length. Macy had perfect timing as my mom had come into town the week before and we had just enough time to get last minute errands in and finish up Macy's room. It was actually Monday when we worked all day on her room and that afternoon I started timing my contractions (which did not hurt, so I wasn't sure if it was the real thing). They were getting closer to 3-5 min apart like my Dr said, so we decided to head over to the hospital just in case. I was not expecting to stay there at all, but sure enough they wanted to keep me. After they made me walk the halls for an hour you better believe those contractions were real, and not feeling too great. Nick's mom, my mom, Nick and I had a long night awaiting the arrival of Macy. It wasn't until the next morning Macy was all ready to grace us with her presence. Labor wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. Everything went very well. After she came out, the nurse layed her on me in the towel and Macy just looked up at me and smiled :) We are so glad to finally have our little girl in our lives.

P.S. Macy came almost 2 weeks early...I have Bill Cosby and mint cookies to thank! :) I'm a believer!

The Secret to going into Labor?

My friend gave me this goodie bag the other day in hopes that it would help! I opened it and it gave me a good laugh. You see, she was due 3 weeks before me, but ended up having her baby 2 weeks ahead of time. She was to be induced that weekend, but instead, her water broke that wednesday night. You'll have to read the note and you'll understand what all this is for... Haha...she's awesome!

In case the picture is too small and you can't read it, it says:
Ashley,
Don't try this until you're really ready just in case it works :)
I watched this movie and ate these cookies...couple hours later my water broke. The pee pad would have been awesome but I wasn't that prepared. I got you one for your bed and one for the car ride to the hospital.
Good Luck
Kami

Baby Shower 2

My friends from my old job threw me a baby shower last weekend and we had a blast! We ate (my favorite) chips with salsa and guacamole, and had tacos for dinner. We also played BINGO (which I won in the first round) and I learned there are many other ways to get a BINGO as well. It was great to see all of them again as I've been gone already for 2 weeks. We laughed a lot and had a grand ol time. Here are some of the pics from the night...

Getting ready for Baby!

The countdown is coming to a close and I did a horrible job of keeping the blog updated! I only have 3 weeks or so and I will be a MOMMY! Crazy to think that. I have officially retired from my job! I'm in the second week and Im LOVING it...other than the fact that I am so uncomfortable to do too much. I have been working a little on my photography stuff. I've been working with my friend trying to get a new look and blog all set up, and hopefully soon I can start shooting more pictures! Check it out (www.freshfocusphoto.com)
We still have lots to do before Macy gets here....like paint her room and set it all up! For the most part, everything is going good. Its getting hard to sleep at night because my hips hurt so bad and I have to pee every couple hours. Dr says everything is great and now we're just playing the waiting game...whenever Macy decides its time will be the time. I haven't had any REAL contractions yet and I am only dialated to a 1, so we'll see... Hopefully I can keep this updated as much as possible since I will be staying home now.
I thought i'd post some pictures since I haven't done that in a while....

Daddy and Dakota are a big help setting up stuff. We cant wait to use the stroller and car seat!
Here's mama at 35? weeks

Pregnancy does some ugly things to your body...

33? weeks

After getting home from my baby shower...lots and lots of goodies!

Apparently Dakota likes to be in every picture...

All growed up!

Ok, so our first little baby is all grown up now. We celebrated her 1st birthday with her on August 4. Nick thinks Im a little ridiculous for wrapping up her present. Hey, she deserves it! Everyone needs to have a little fun on their birthday. Dakota got to open her new bone (which is like 2 feet long) and after that we took her to the park (her FAVORITE place in the world!) Dakota is funny with her bone. She wont chew on it, but likes carrying it around everywhere and running into the walls and door frames with it. She likes to leave it in special places for you...like on the bed, or in your chair! For the most part, she has been a pretty good dog. She is VERY smart. Like Nick says, Smart Dog, Dumb Owners... aint that true.

You all kept asking...here it is!

After many months of asking to see...Here it is... a baby bump picture!
Things are going well for the most part. Im finding that now has been the hardest part. Work is getting harder, and the standing all day is killing me. My right leg looks like its about to fall off (according to Nick) because the varicose veins are so bad. After standing for a while it feels like the blood vessels are all popping. I wear support stockings to work and it helps a little. The heat of summer is brutal for all the layering! I've also been having braxton hicks contractions and just recently my doctor told me to take it easy because I'm having cramping which turns out to be from round ligament pain. I have to drink 90oz + water a day....Im working on it, but it sucks when you have to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes.
Anyways, enough complaining. We're so excited for our little girl to pop out! No matter what I suffer through I know it will all be worth it to see this little child sent from heaven in my arms. :)3 more months!

4th of July Fun

This year we celebrated the 4th of July on the 3rd. Many a fun time at the Edingtons! My Sister McKenna was able to come down again and join us. This year for the dessert contest we made hamburger cupcakes and they were a big hit! It was hard to top the spaghetti cupcakes we made last year~

Nick Of course always has to show everybody up in the belly flop contest~

I still can't seem to get that whole watermelon eaten before everyone else~
Me and My sissy~

This year was our first "Legal" 4th as you would call it. Instead of the usual illegal fireworks, Sus and Wayne decided to surprise all of us with a 4th of July RAVE! They had boxes upon boxes of light up anything you can imagine~ We had lots of fun dancing. marching and twirling our light up contraptions!

Then and Now...

Jst thought I'd post some cute pics of Kota and her Sissy... The first is when they were 4 weeks old...They were seperated and then at almost 1 year old they were reunited and are inseperable. Dakota absolutely hates when Missy and her are seperated. She acts like a little child and moaps around the house.

Its a GIRL!! :)

This post goes along with the pictures below...for some reason it would not let add the text with the pictures. oh well!

Its official! We're having a little girl! We are so excited and can't wait until she comes out! She's been moving all over the place inside me and its a pretty cool feeling. The Doc says everything is normal and baby is looking healthy. I am doing well also, despite all the varicose veins that seem to keep popping up. I know it will all be worth it!

In the mean time, we look forward to preparing for our little one and picking out the right name for her. :)

Las weekend we decided to skip the heat of only the beginning of summer and head up to Mt Charleston. We had fun exploring and Dakota had a blast being one with nature. We went all the way up to the ski resort and there was even some leftover snow to play in!

Its a GIRL!

Our Baby Girl...already picking her nose!

Definately a girl!

If you haven't already guessed...

WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!
I know its been a while since I last posted anything. I've known since my birthday (2/23). I'm almost half way there already. We had an ultrasound done in April to check things out in there and it was incredible to see that little thing moving around so much. The Dr. couldn't tell for sure whether it was boy or girl, but we will find out on June 1. :) So far everything is going well. I haven't really had any morning sickness. I have been feeling really tired and have been having sciatic nerve pain that comes and goes when it pleases. Other than that, we are ready for a new member of our family to arrive!
Any guesses on boy or girl??

Any name suggestions are greatly appreciated! I think its going to be a while before we come up with a good one we actually agree on!

2010

Happy New Year!!

We've been staying busy playing and working in Las Vegas. Nick got a new job with ADT selling security systems to small business and residential. He is doing a fantastic job so far and I am very proud of him! I have been non stop at work. I am grateful that even though its crazy at times that our office remains to have its waiting room full. There have been way over 50 offices that have closed in the valley in the last little while. We count our blessings.

I just returned home from a weekend in California where I was able to go to my Great Grandma Bain's funeral. She lived a long, good 92 years. It was nice to see people I haven't seen in years. It was fun to be able to celebrate her life with family. Dakota and I drove down and got to spend some quality time with my mom who I haven't seen in a while and other family members. We had a lot of fun. Dakota got to play at Grandma's as well as hit up the doggy beach in Huntington Beach. She wasn't too fond of the water, but loved running and chasing other dogs in the sand.

We look forward to this new year and await all the surprises ahead!
